Production flexibility and customer orientation enable SLI to promptly
respond to the changing needs of the customers. The 11 fully automated
packaging lines give a wide choice of packaging formats from 250 ml
plastic bottles and 1l metallic cans to 1,000l tanks.
The flexibility of our blending plant allows us to carry out both
small and large quantity orders. Moreover, we can vary our production
output and execute mixed orders.
SLI offers a filling service for both small and large packages.
The facility is made up of 11 filling lines organised as follows:
6 lines for plastic packages (from 250 ml up to a max. of
5l),
2 lines for 1 litre metallic packages,
1 line for drums and kegs,
1 line for pails,
1 line called "jolly", adaptable to different packaging
sizes (drums, pails and kegs).

As for big packaging , SLI offers the following formats: pails
(25 litres), kegs (60 litres), drums (205 litres), 1,000 litre tanks.
Each single packaging format is packaged on a dedicated line, so
that the four formats can all be processed at the same time. This
provides a considerable speed to the production system. However
the flexibility is also guaranteed because the minimum production
lot is only eight drums.

The leading position of SLI in the Italian market is especially
evident in case of small package filling lines. In this area SLI
offers remarkable production versatility and huge capacity, e.g.
our can line can reach a maximum of 13,000 pieces per hour. Nevertheless,
we also complete smaller orders (4,000/5,000 pieces each).
The quality control in this department is a fundamental issue.
An automatic weighting system is present on the lines so that the
weight control is carried out immediately. Any anomaly in the weight
or in the external structure of each package is immediately reported
and the defective package is automatically eliminated.
The safety closure devices available are the thermally welded aluminum
cap or the tamper evident device. They can be both used simultaneously
to increase the safety of the package.
The front and back labels on each package are applied automatically
and checked before the products are placed in the carton board boxes,
which are then located on pallets and transported to the storing area.
SLI staff can offer their expertise in the development of new package
formats and labels.
