The area dedicated to the storage of base oils amounts to more
than 5,200 m³ which is composed of:
6 tanks of 600 m³ each,
1 tank of 400 m³,
4 tanks of 150 m³ each,
10 tanks of 60 m³ each.
In the base oil tanks, both paraffinic and synthetic bases are
stocked, including polyalphaolefinic and hydrogen-treated bases
with high viscosity index. The storing area dedicated to raw materials
includes segregated tanks for additives. The segregation allows
the storage of several different types of additives without any
risk of contamination or accidental contact. The total capacity
of additive storage exceeds 1,000 m³:
26 tanks of 40 m³ capacity each,
4 tanks of 25 m³ capacity each.
These tanks are connected to the blending plant with an automatic
level control system that is operated through radar sensors. It
monitors the stock availability in exact time. Sophisticated security
systems prevent the accidental contact between highly concentrated
additives, allow an accurate control of the temperatures in the
blending and storing phase, and monitor the transfer of finished
products on separate lines. This latter activity is used to prevent
pollution.
